Interview with Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee from BREAK SCIENCE; Playing NYC tonight and Albany tomorrow! @breakscience @realdeitchbeats @borahmkeys
Brooklyn, NY electronic duo BREAK SCIENCE are fantastic! Though the explosive popularity of Dubstep and EDM has flooded the musical market with many hard partying yet derivative mp3 jockeys, these Brooklyn boys offer so much more in terms of writing creativity, performance quality, genre blending, and musical innovation than most of their counterparts.
Interview with Eli Maiman from WALK THE MOON; Playing S.U. Schine Underground TOMORROW, 12/5!!! @walkthemoonband @walkthemoonfans
I caught Walk The Moon for the first time at Piano’s, a very small club in the Lower East Side of New York City, with a group of friends who were maniacally excited to encounter the group. Sensing their enthusiasm, I thought it a good idea to tag along, praying I wouldn’t be inundated by yet another barrage of worthless indie crap that only Pantera could take care of. Luckily for me, the band tore through a delightful set of friendly, energetic pop jams that got the crowd moving.
Interview with Albert Suttle from PERPETUAL GROOVE; Playing Atlanta on NYE and Aura Music Festival @blpfam @perpetualgroove @auramusicfestival
Genre-smashing Athens, Georgia 4-piece Perpetual Groove almost as well known for their brilliant lighting and visual stage backgrounds as they are for their music. Gifted, highly musical performers with a lengthy history and extensive repertoire, Perpetual Groove fans all around have lauded over the group’s live show experience and environment.
Interview with MARCO BENEVENTO; Playing Syracuse, Ithaca, and Albany this week! @marcobenevento @royalpotato
Brooklyn, NY based Pianist/Organist/Composer/Virtuoso Marco Benevento has accomplished many things during his musical tenure. Between his indie-rock duo Benevento Russo, his band Bustle In Your Hedgerow (you figure it out,) Garage A Trois (with Stanton Moore,) and his solo output, one could say Marco Benevento is slightly busy. Add a family on top of that, and it makes you wonder when the guy has time to sleep.
Interview with Tom McKee from BROTHERS PAST; Playing NYE in Philly! @brotherspast @blpfam
Philadelphia 4-piece Brothers Past has been active in the music scene for quite some time. Forming at the turn of the millennium, the group has garnered a passionate and devoted following in the electro-rock circuit, one that will certainly grow given the explosion of the genre into the mainstream music industry. Acoustic instrumentation coupled with electronic influence is all the rage these days, and it’s time to give credit where credit is due, because these guys have been at it for a while, and that quite well.
