Interview with Soley; Performed at Iceland Airwaves event during @sxsw @soleysoleysoley

Soley, along with her band mates Jón Óskar Jónsson (drums) and Albert Finnbogason (keys&guitar,) bring a dark, inspired alt-pop sound, with plenty of sonic possibility through the usage of live loop sampling. Currently signed to Morr Music, her latest release, 2011’s We Sink, is a beautifully composed work, offering richly textural melodies and a smooth, laid back rhythm.

Interview with Seager Tennis from Mellow Bravo from Boston; Playing @sxsw this week! @mellowbravo

Boston, Massachusetts sextet Mellow Bravo are making their way to SXSW this week, along with just about every other band hellbent on making their mark in the music industry. Steeped in the Rock n Roll sound and attitude, Mellow Bravo’s spirited approach will suit anyone who wants some straight forward ragers nicely. The Bottom Dollars are one of Brooklyn, NY’s finest undiscovered quintets right now and they’re hitting the road right now with their self proclaimed “brothers-in-rock:” The Nuclears & Deathrow Tull.

I was introduced to the group by someone I hardly knew who asked if I had any vacancies on a showcase I was throwing in Austin and, after YouTubing their cover of “Higher and Higher” for about 45 seconds, I knew they’d be a good choice to rev up the crowd.
