Ahh, festivals… We just can’t get enough of ’em over here at Live High Five! Here’s another doozy happening in August at Hemlock Hollow Farm in Claverack, NY. Holy Fuck, Jojo Mayer and Nerve, Kung Fu, Dopapod, Brothers Past, and this is the first wave? Down like a clown, Charlie Brown. THE BIG UP MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL UNVEILS PHASE ONE OF THE 2013 MUSICAL LINEUP 

AND NEW VENUE LOCATION!

August 8th – 10th, 2013 at Hemlock Hollow Farm in Claverack, NY

Selecting the defining sounds of summer once again, this year’s Phase One acts include Holy Fuck, Escort, the world premiere of Abakus live band, a DJ set from Chris Keating of Yeasayer, Jojo Mayer & Nerve, host band Higher Organix, Kung Fu, Dopapod, Brothers Past, Normal Instruments and Party Supplies. Additional artists and major headliners to be announced soon!

Three days of music, sunshine, and ragin’ in Florida. That’s how BROTHERLY LOVE PRODUCTIONS got down a few weeks ago, delivering another wildly successful installment of AURA MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL in Live Oak.

For all you who went, what did you think and who was your favorite acts? Break Science? Nigel Hall? The return of RAQ (!!!)? All I can say is BLP did an amazing job with the lineup and location, and they definitely know how to throw a frickin’ party!!!

Check out the video highlights and pcitures below, and expect 2014 to be even bigger and badder than this monster was… These guys don’t play around!

Raq is Baq, and I couldn’t be happier!!! A staple in my college musical diet, the band would play Syracuse University and surrounding areas consistently, bringing their super technical, energetic delivery to small bar stages on a near monthly basis. It was great! As the band progressed in the music scene, I was certain that I’d get to be one of those obnoxious fan/band owners who claimed ‘There First’ rights, but just as the group seemed to really take off, they went on hiatus. I didn’t get it, and it bummed me out.

New Haven, Connecticut’s Kung Fu is bent on one thing: Sonically roundhouse kicking the bejesus out of fusion fans the world over! Though a fairly young band, Kung Fu boasts some of the most respected players to come from the jam/rock/jazz scene in our generation, including members of The Breakfast and RAQ.

AURA MUSIC EVENTS ANNOUNCES VOTE TO AURA MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL 2013 CAMPAIGN

This Election Day, AURA Music & Arts Festival invites fans to shake off the general election stress and get excited for the Vote to AURA Campaign. They’ve hand-picked ten of the hottest up-and-coming acts representing a wide variety of regions and genres. The campaign launches today, November 6th, and continues for three weeks. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, November 27th at 3pm.
