Selecting the defining sounds of summer once again, this year’s Phase One acts include Holy Fuck, Escort, the world premiere of Abakus live band, a DJ set from Chris Keating of Yeasayer, Jojo Mayer & Nerve, host band Higher Organix, Kung Fu, Dopapod, Brothers Past, Normal Instruments and Party Supplies. Additional artists and major headliners to be announced soon!
Buffalo, NY groove-rock quartet Aqueous is a lot of fun, both in the way they compose their tunes and how they deliver them in concert. I know some of you will read this, see the word “Jam,” and immediately peg the group as a bunch of Deadhead wannabes, but that couldn’t be further from the truth… Praise Jeebus.

This Election Day, AURA Music & Arts Festival invites fans to shake off the general election stress and get excited for the Vote to AURA Campaign. They’ve hand-picked ten of the hottest up-and-coming acts representing a wide variety of regions and genres. The campaign launches today, November 6th, and continues for three weeks. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, November 27th at 3pm.
It was a solid Wednesday night for music in Syracuse on September 26th, as Papadosio and Dopapod brought their electro-jam-fusion through our humble city for some mid-week raging! Maybe I’m just getting old (I am), but the crowds these days are getting younger and younger. You’d have thought Minor Threat was headlining with the amount of X’d up hands I saw in the audience, most running to the bathroom to frantically scrub off any excess sharpie ink in an attempt to try and pass as legal.
