Review of CONTINENTS’ IDLE HANDS LP; Out TODAY (like right now) on Victory Records! @victoryrecords @wearecontinents
Here’s another one by resident reviewer/percussive snot pounder, Lord Covey. IDLE HANDS drops TODAY 1/22/13 and will be wherever you find the rest of our Victory Records favorites… Go cop it, take a listen, and judge for yourself! Who listens to drummers, anyway? 🙂
Continents – Idle Hands (Victory Records)
On their Victory Records debut, UK’s Continents takes territory popularized by Botch, Meshuggah and Misery Signals, and moves it a touch more towards Hatebreed. Their sound ends up almost directly between flagship bands like The Ghost Inside and After The Read More…
The Postal Service reunion is happening!!!
Well, the rumors are true! The Postal Service will indeed be reuniting this year, and that is going to make A LOT of people very happy. Can’t wait to see what the ticket prices are going to be like, both day-of and on secondary sites. Be quick about it if you want to go… This will be a mighty hot ticket for 2013!
Stay tuned and check out their website for updates. Wow!
Review of FALL CITY FALL’s Victus album; Dropping 1/22/13 on Victory Records
Here’s one from Lord Covey before he hit the road with Shai Hulud. VICTUS is dropping on 1/22 via Victory Records, so cop it when it hits, or go pre-order it NOW for special deals and packages. Kudos, Calgary!
Fall City Fall – Victus (Victory Records)
The first full-length album from Calgary-based Fall City Fall, Victus, is billed by Victory Records as a truly boundary-pushing hardcore record. So, I was a bit skeptical when the record opens with a kinda standard-issue slowmotional hardcore intro song. But by the time the second tune, “Dissentipede,” gets going, it’s clear there is a bigger plan at work in FCF’s writing. In the first couple minutes, they slickly pull off a plot that feels distinctly like the layered reveal of a “monster next door” villain in a murder mystery…and you’ve realized just a little too late.
