The NYC subway system… It’s more than just turnstiles, rats, and fear of homicide. Though the packed cars, shrill stops, and occasional stench of bodily fluids/gas certainly don’t scream “inviting atmosphere,” one can stumble across a fair share of talent vying for the commuter dollar. In my 3 years as an NYC resident, no act made me turn my head, or shake my butt, more than Moon Hooch.

So, if you like heavy music and haven’t had any good reason to visit Massachusetts lately, see above. The 15th Annual (!!!) New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will be at The Palladium in Worcester, Ma. from April 19th through the 21st, and for fuck’s sake… Someone’s been working time-and-a-half-overtime-plus on this one.

Anthrax, Opeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Hatebreed, Dillinger Escape Plan, Exodus, and an undercard that’ll give all those bands a run for their money. Looks like a “Must” to me.

Kudos to whoever put this together!

And damn… Justine is cute!

We can’t speak on any solidified dates yet, but this is certainly turning out to be one epic punk-rock drama. Details will be posted as they come.

Thanks to Brooklyn Vegan for the scoop!

Interview with Justin Dehel from Philly’s GOOD GRACES urging you to “Get confident, stupid.” @stereokiller

Philadelphia punk rock upstarts Good Graces are a very young group just beginning to cut their teeth in the sadomasochistic world of music. Everyone starts at the beginning, but some groups just have a bit more going for them out of the gate than the others.
