The highly anticipated launch of Aaron Behrens’ solo career is finally here. Best known as the frontman of the electro-pop duo Ghostland Observatory, Behrens has announced plans to release the self-titled debut of his solo group, The Midnight Stroll, September 16 as the inaugural release of his brand new Skeleton Farm Records label. Behrens has also announced plans to embark on a massive coast-to-coast tour of North America this fall.

With Ghostland Observatory on hiatus, Behrens has been preparing his solo musical adventure since 2013. Writing, recording and rehearsing with a crack team of Austin musicians, the sessions resulted in Behrens crafting material that blended elements of soulful rock and heartfelt blues into a refreshing sound. Joining Behrens in The Midnight Stroll is Jonas Wilson (previously from Lomita and White White Lights) on guitar and production. Over the past few months, The Midnight Stroll have played a handful of shows, including at SXSW Interactive with Aloe Blacc andThe Hold Steady, as well as festival sets at Austin City LimitsNeon DesertWakarusa and Fort Worth Music Festival.

In anticipation of its first extensive nation-wide tour, Aaron Behrens and The Midnight Stroll offered a free instant download of the EP’s first single, “Keep On Rising,”  through Applauze.com, while the song is also available via iTunes pre-order. CBS News.com recently premiered another song off the EP called “Dreamer” as well. Behrens will also be revealing sneak previews from the self-titled EP (to be made available digitally and as a vinyl) leading up to the tour via Facebook and Twitter.

Started in 2004, Ghostland Observatory released four studio albums and enjoyed a successful string of live appearances at Coachella andAustin City Limits. The duo also experienced success crossing over into television, having made its national TV debut on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien and getting licensed for prominent Lexus ads. Most recently, Ghostland Observatory was even U.S. Olympic snowboarderKaitlyn Farrington’s choice of music while winning a Gold Medal in Sochi, Russia.
