It would seem that criminals have no better pastime than screwing with touring bands and their transportation. Pennsylvania Reggae/Soul outfit The Snails are one of the latest victims of scumbag douchery, and the timing couldn’t have been worse as they are just about to embark on a tour.
But let’s not allow the bad guys to win this one. A small fundraiser has been started to get The Snails’ get some new gear and merch for their trek by clicking this link and donating what you can. Read a letter from Tim below, and let’s help these fellas out!
I represent The Snails, a 5-piece Philadelphia-area reggae/soul band. We regularly play in and around Philadelphia and have embarked on several national tours in the past two years. I am writing you to share the unfortunate news that our van and much of our musical equipment and merchandise were stolen in Philadelphia in the early hours of Monday, May 5. This is an especially trying event as we are set to head out on a three-week tour of the eastern United States in less than two weeks. We have been planning and working on this tour for several months, and we have no plans to abandon these shows if there is any possible way for us to continue. We are currently engaging in a fundraising campaign including a crowdfunding project on Big Tunes (https://bigtun.es/projects/index/13) with the goal of replacing our van and as much of our equipment as possible before we head out on tour. I am reaching out to you to ask for your help in spreading the word about our situation. We can use all the help we can get, whether through donations or just awareness. I will include links to our site where you can read about us and our upcoming tour, the incident, and how we’re trying to respond to it, as well as links to third-party press coverage that we have received in the past couple of days.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration, and for any assistance you might be willing to give us. I look forward to your response.
Tim Hildebrand (The Snails)
