Albany, NY is hosting long running death metal stalwarts NILE tonight at Bogie’s. The folks over there definitely aren’t afraid of putting on heavy shows (as one of the last vestiges of aggressive music within 3 hours of Syracuse,) but this one should be something else altogether.
Ride the 90 and go check NILE out in a VERY small venue, and pick up their latest album At The Gate Of Sethu on Nuclear Blast.
NILE’s unique sound began based on a potent combination of historical Egyptian culture and lore references, with the ferocity of modern death metal. Using a symphonic approach to song writing and arrangement, NILE unleashes an uncompromising attack that fuses technical death metal with organic Middle Eastern tones. NILE’s unique lyrical bias is inspired by Karl Sander’s (guitarist/vocalist) interpretation of ancient Egyptian inscriptions, temple carvings, papyri, hieroglyphics and tomb paintings depicting ancient battles, rituals and religious ceremonies. NILE will guide you down into the depths of their ominous catacombs to torture your souls with the darkest tunes in a long time!
